We are your dream holiday
As our guest in Groemitz
you enjoy a sandy, wide beach, over
a full 8 kilometres length in an exclusive southern exposure. Here you greet
the new day doing beach gymnastics. Happy children dig giant sand castles with our
animators and refresh themselves in the shallow Baltic wash. And we offer even more
diversity concerning the beach varying from nude beach to natural beach at the
romantic steep cliffs to the popular dog beach.
And the seaside promenade?
Beautiful and lively, more than three kilometres
long, featuring harmonically designed chill-out areas, playgrounds and more
than 20 works of art. Attractive shops, little boutiques, hospitable
restaurants, cosy cafés and a modern WLAN hotspot in the beach and promenade
area.
There is always a little more going on in Groemitz,
as we offer not only gorgeous days on the beach but also culture, sports, spa treatments and a bulging calendar of events.
Experience them all: huge events as the spectacular display of aerial fireworks
“Baltic Sea on Fire”, maritime highlights like a diving tour to the bottom of
the Baltic Sea in our world first
diving bell or short guided bicycle tours into the
lovely East Holstein.
By the way: having fun
is not dependent on the weather. A good example is the seawater wave pool
experience “Groemitzer Welle”: 1000 square metres of water surface, a warm
seawater tidal pool - wild like a force 7 wind, a water slide, children’s
wading pool and whirlpool.
Right next to the “Welle” you can enjoy quietness
instead: the “Wellarium” is
Groemitz’s no. 1 address for spa treatments in all varieties. Enjoy “Original
Thalasso”, enjoy a variety of saunas - high and low temperature saunas, “Bio
Vital Sauna” (low temperature and coloured lights), “Bergkristall-Sanarium” (a
rock crystal vaporizing eucalyptus steam) and a wide variety of massages and
beauty treatments.
Those who want to spend a sporty holiday have fantastic options in Groemitz: try the beautiful bicycle tracks like for instance the “Ostseekuestenradweg” along the Baltic coast, try Nordic walking in a merry group or try hiking along magnificent and well signposted trails like the “Monks Trail” featuring many sights between the river Elbe and the island of Fehmarn. Golfers also benefit from a holiday in Groemitz: the 27-hole golf course is situated near the centre and its various fairways, bunkers, lakes and roughs offer many diversions and sporting challenges for every handicap. Stand on the higher reaches and let yourself be inspired by the beautiful views over the broad landscape of East Holstein and the Baltic Sea. Eight more championship golf courses can be reached from here on a short distance.
The holiday resort
Groemitz is connected to the sea with all its heart. Therefore it doesn’t come
as a surprise that water sports has
many friends in the area. Sailors are welcome here, beginners as well as
professionals.
Take your own or chartered boat out of the mole and enter the
attractive sailing area of Luebeck Bay. There is a special charm to attending high-class annual sailing contests like
the BMW-Sailing-Cup - world’s biggest amateur sailing contest, but also
classical windsurfing, modern
freestyle or trendy kite-surfing are
ranking high in Groemitz.
The centre of water sports is found in one
of the finest port facilities of the Baltic Sea: the Groemitz marina. Here – at the maritime beach promenade with its monumental
sculptures of mainsails and a variety of culinary styles in the restaurants –
you can combine to see and to be seen with a lot of amusement.
There’s sports and fun in professional water sports academies
which always have reasonable trial offers and great activities for kids.
Those who love wind and adventures can look forward
to an eventful sailing day-trip into the blue waters of the Baltic – why not
take part in our supervised sailing
tours or use the wide range of charter
vessels?
Recreation in Groemitz means more than
that, as this sunny, colourful and sporty place is embedded in the picturesque East Holstein landscape,
lots of nature and charming cultural
monuments. The 13th century Benedictine monastery in nearby
Cismar ranks among the most famous buildings in North German Gothic brick
architecture.
Pay a visit to first-class classic
concerts in old barns or huge castles during the annual “Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival”. Don’t miss a trip to Luebeck
with its steeples and its half-hidden passageways leading to tiny cottages and
gardens. Luebeck is a cultural important hanseatic
town, famous for Niederegger marzipan which is made there since more than
200 years.
Take an unforgettable trip to Hansapark Sierksdorf with all kinds of amusement rides and numerous
shows - all of them directly by the sea.
