Jan Kollwitz, the great-grandson of the graphic artist and sculptor Käthe Kollwitz, creates ceramics in his studio using a traditional Japanese technique. Since 1988, he has been firing his pieces in an authentic anagama wood-fired kiln. The ceramics are not glazed; their colors and luster develop during the four-day firing process.

The fume glaze fuses with the pottery to form a natural glaze. Smoke, flames, and embers leave behind gray, red, and deep blue hues.

Who doesn’t dream of climbing through a world-class adventure park with a fantastic view of the Baltic Sea right behind the dike? Balance across wire ropes from platform to platform, conquer the dragon, or ride the sled. Each of the more than 60 stations presents a unique challenge. At heights ranging from four to ten meters, everyone can test their courage and agility. Our highly trained safety instructors first teach each guest how to use the equipment. Only once they’ve got the hang of it can they climb to their heart’s content. The instructors constantly monitor our guests and provide assistance when needed. Should a participant ever get stuck, our instructors are happy to help them back down to the ground.

Cismar Abbey is a large medieval abbey in East Holstein that impresses visitors with its unique historical atmosphere alone. It is also one of the most significant examples of early Lübeck Gothic architecture and features one of the oldest surviving winged altars in existence. Numerous events as well as regular special exhibitions make a visit even more appealing. There are hiking trails around the monastery that lead, among other places, to the Baltic Sea, just five kilometers away.

This Baltic Sea resort has many charming spots. The spa gardens are one of the most beautiful. A green oasis in the heart of this bustling vacation destination. The new facility on Blankwasserweg is a hilly, paved mountain bike trail characterized by steep descents and ascents. This allows riders to build up a lot of speed in a small space, even enabling them to perform jumps. It can also be used by skateboarders and mini-scooter riders.

"Loth Lorien/Tolkien" Boat Tours
From the Grömitz pier, you’ll sail for about two hours across the open water, feeling the breeze on your face and soaking up plenty of sunshine. Additional activities are offered on board, subject to availability. So you can not only sail, but also climb the mast with safety harnesses or ride a speedboat. In addition to our daytime trips, we also offer an evening trip. Enjoy a cocktail and the sunset on a sailing ship. Trips take place with a minimum of 15 participants. In this case, rebooking is of course free of charge.

You can purchase tickets at the tourist information office, directly on board, or online.

“Sea Lion” Boat Tours
Baltic Sea Cruise on the Seelöwen – Cast off for a Baltic Sea cruise! Join us out on the water in Lübeck Bay. With us, you’ll experience everything that makes a sea voyage special: the whisper of the wind, the roar of the sea, and an unobstructed view for miles. And all of this in a nostalgic atmosphere aboard our 80-year-old seaside resort ship, the “Seelöwe.”

Dogs are welcome on board and cost 50 cents per paw. The proceeds go to Tierschutz Lübeck und Umgebung e. V.

This yacht charter company has been based at the Grömitz marina since 2000 and rents out only its own sailboats and motorboats. The motorboats are available for half-day or full-day rentals. The Corsiva 595, equipped with a 15-horsepower outboard motor, can even be operated without a boat license. The charter office is located at Pier 9 in the marina. Reservations are requested.
