"Best of Baltic" Cycling Week in OstseeFerienLand | September 14–19, 2026

This September, the region once again invites you to discover it together on two wheels. From Monday through Saturday, there will be daily guided bike tours, each starting from a different location within the OstseeFerienLand region. The program features varied routes, places worth seeing, and cultural highlights, as well as enjoyable breaks along the way. Participation in the tours is free. No special fitness level is required: Anyone who enjoys cycling and has fun on group tours is welcome to join.

Bicycle Week kicks off on Monday, September 14, from Seestraße 37a in Dahme. It’s a very special journey of discovery. Under the expert guidance of a mushroom guide, all participants will learn a lot about nature’s treasures and the impressive variety of fall mushrooms. The tour will pass by Nystedplatz for a bicycle blessing ceremony featuring an open-air church service, followed by a bicycle safety training session with AC Dahme. After a technically challenging ride, the journey of discovery will end back in Dahme after approximately 40 km and 3–4 hours.

On Tuesday, September 15, the bike tour starts at the church square in Lensahn and proceeds through Beschendorf, Krummbek, and Merkendorf to Rettin. That is where the route featuring the 35 granite sculptures begins. The group will follow the artworks from Rettin through Pelzerhaken and along the Neustadt inland waterway. The group will take a break at Bistro Südstrand before continuing to explore the many sculptures. The return route goes via the Hasselburg estate, with a short break, and then through Marxdorf and Wahrendorf back to Lensahn. The route is approximately 50 km long.

On September 16, we’ll set out together from the pier plaza in Kellenhusen and follow the restored Panoramaweg trail to Dahme. From there, we’ll continue via Thomsdorf and Riepsdorf to Koselau, where the Müller Dairy Team will be waiting for us at their farm. After a short farm tour offering insights and information about food production and agriculture, all participants will have the opportunity to taste the famous Kosi cheese from Käse-Tim. The route continues via Lensahn, Bentfeld, and Nienhagen to Hof Hagen, where there will be a short break with coffee and cake. Afterward, it’s not far to Kellenhusen along the bike path through the Kellenhusen Forest. The total length of the tour is approximately 47 km.

On Thursday, September 17, the tour—which is approximately 47 km long—will start at the Grube Village Museum. The destination is the Hasselburg Estate, where there will be a guided tour for all participants. Afterward, there will be a break at Café Chembolo. The bike tour winds through beautiful natural scenery and ends back in Grube at around 3:00 p.m.

The studio tour begins on Friday (September 18) at the pier plaza in Grömitz. The tour starts off in Cismar at Jan Kollwitz’s studio, where an exciting kiln tour awaits everyone. Afterward, Elke Tittelbach will be waiting at the Remise, where visitors can gain insights into soap-making and artistic creation. The tour continues to Hof Klostersee for a culinary stop. Before heading back to Grömitz, the tour will stop at Hof Kattenberg’s creative workshop, where Sabine Höft-Dammer will give the group a short guided tour. After a lovely tour through fields and forests, the group will return to the pier plaza around 4:00 p.m.

The final tour of Bike Week will start on September 19 from the pier plaza in Grömitz (11:00 a.m.) or from Cismar Abbey (11:20 a.m.). On the way to Dahmeshöved, the group from Grömitz will pick up more cycling enthusiasts in Cismar. The route continues through the monastery village of Cismar toward Kellenhusen and from there to the first destination: the Dahmeshöved Lighthouse. Once there, the cyclists will be divided into two groups to tour the lighthouse. Everyone else can look forward to a short break with a cool drink and a snack. Once everyone has toured the lighthouse, the ride continues through Dahme, Grube Siggeneben, and smaller villages to the Hofcafé Hofhagen, where participants can enjoy refreshments toward the end of the tour. Afterward, all participants will be escorted back to the starting point at Cismar Abbey and the pier forecourt in Grömitz.

All bike tours during Bike Week, from Monday through Saturday, are free of charge. They always start at 10 a.m. (except on Saturday) at the respective meeting point. Interested cyclists can easily register online at www.fahrradwoche.de Sign up for the tour of your choice or arrive on time at the starting point.
