Grömitz Sun Shuttle Kicks Off the 2026 Season with an Optimized Route

The Grömitz Sonnenshuttle kicks off its new season on May 4, 2026—with a revised route and a tried-and-true concept: Through September 27, the shuttle will provide a comfortable, flexible, and eco-friendly connection between the “Lensterstrand” and the Baltic Sea resort of Grömitz.

The route has been specifically optimized for the 2026 season. In particular, additional stops near the clinics on Blankwasserweg and Brookgang will improve accessibility. The goal is to further strengthen the connection between Lensterstrand and the town center and to significantly shorten travel times.

“We have analyzed passenger numbers in detail and taken our guests’ feedback into account. It became clear that there is additional demand in these areas,” explains Manfred Wohnrade, operations manager at Tourismus-Service Grömitz. “With the new stops, we are specifically filling existing gaps in the route network.”

Special Schedules for Event Highlights

The Sonnenshuttle will continue to be used more extensively for major events in 2026. For “Ostsee in Flammen” on August 29, an expanded special schedule will ensure a convenient trip from Lensterstrand. Additional trips will also be available for the Monastery Weekend (August 7–9).

Free access for guests and locals

Holders of the “ostseecard”—including all accompanying children and adolescents up to age 18—may use the Sonnenshuttle free of charge. The same applies to residents of the municipality of Grömitz with a valid ID card. For all other passengers, the regular Schleswig-Holstein fare applies.
