New Bicycle Parking Facilities Completed in Grömitz
The Grömitz Tourism Service has successfully completed the expansion of its bicycle parking facilities. A total of 240 new bicycle parking spaces, featuring modern row parking racks and shelters, were created at four locations. The new facilities enhance the experience for both visitors and locals alike and make an important contribution to promoting bicycle use in Grömitz.
Now that the bicycle parking facilities at Strandtreff and Seestern have already been put into operation, two additional locations on Nordstrand have also been completed. This means that convenient, weather-protected parking is now available at all four locations.
The project was implemented as part of the federal government’s special “City and Country” program. The Grömitz Tourism Service is receiving a grant covering 75 percent of the eligible costs from federal funds.
“With the new bicycle parking facilities, we are providing significantly improved services for our guests and all local residents who use bicycles in their daily lives or for recreation. The high demand for safe and convenient parking options shows just how important cycling has become for Grömitz. Thanks to federal funding, we were able to implement this project cost-effectively and make another contribution to sustainable mobility in our Baltic Sea resort,” says Manfred Wohnrade, operations manager at Tourismus-Service Grömitz.
