New record for short getaways right on your doorstep in Lübeck and the Bay of Lübeck

The desire for a short getaway right on one’s doorstep remains as strong as ever: The “change of scenery” in January and February 2026, organized by Lübeck und Travemünde Marketing GmbH (LTM) in collaboration with Timmendorfer Strand Niendorf Tourismus GmbH (TSNT), the Lübecker Bucht Tourism Agency (TALB), and OstseeFerienLand (OFL), was more popular than ever.

On the last weekend in February, things got active on Grömitz Beach as 271 participants took on the CROSSDOG on the Beach Challenge alongside their beloved four-legged friends. Various CaniX Runs ranging from S to L in length, the CaniX Challenge, and the pawSPRINT were available and were well-received across the board. The most popular event was the CaniX Challenge, which drew 100 participants.

Following the announcement of the “Best of the 90s Party” on Saturday, Clueso for Sunday, and the free acts on Wednesday and Thursday, we’re now revealing the next highlight of the Sonne, Strand [&] Sterne Festival, which will take place from July 1–5, 2026, at Grömitzer Strand. On Friday, July 3, 2026, as part of the NDR Festival, the stage will be set for Max Giesinger. With him, one of the most influential German pop musicians of recent years will take the festival stage.
