A new adventure ship, the red-and-white slide lighthouse, and, of course, a water splash area have been inviting children to play, run around, and have fun at the new playground in the Grömitz marina since June 19.

After a water dispenser was installed in early March with the support of the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Schools in Grömitz, all students and teachers now had the opportunity to receive personalized water bottles. The project was largely funded by the Grömitz Tourism Service using the sustainability fee collected from events.

The Grömitz Tourism Service is implementing its first project funded by the environmental fee introduced last year: 300 insect hotels were ordered from NABU and are now available free of charge to residents of the municipality. Each household can pick up one insect hotel upon presentation of an ID card at the Tourist Information Office on the pier forecourt or at the municipal office at Neuer Markt 1.

In early 2023, the Grömitz Tourism Service was once again commissioned by the municipal council to begin the search for a suitable hotel partner for the new building above the marina. Following exciting discussions with various investors and operators, the Grömitz Tourism Service was able to secure four suitable partners for the Baltic Sea resort, who presented their initial ideas for a new building on the site above the marina in June 2023. Following further working group and municipal council meetings, a unanimous resolution was passed during the last municipal council meeting of 2023, on 21.12.2023: The Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group (FMTG) has been awarded the contract for the new construction project at the Grömitz marina!

Plenty of exercise and fresh Baltic Sea air are the perfect companions for New Year’s resolutions.
