The Splendor of Colors in Grömitz

Let’s start with what’s probably our most important color. Because in Grömitz, gold isn’t just any color—it’s part of our shining landmark. In the form of a small, cheerful sun, it beams out at vacationers as soon as they enter our little town. A way of life that can only be found under the sun in Grömitz.

White isn’t a color? Not a chance. Anyone who’s ever strolled along our dazzling white beach will change their mind the moment their feet touch the soft sand. And when that beach walk leads to our white beach beds, even the last skeptic will be convinced. This dream in white, surrounded by fine grains of sand, invites you to daydream. When you’re dozing in a beach lounger, gazing at the fluffy clouds drifting by, white really is simply the most beautiful color in the world, isn’t it?

If you need a break from your walk on the beach, you can simply swing into one of our hammocks in front of the beach house. It’s an oasis of relaxation that even features palm trees so realistic they’re almost indistinguishable from the real thing, inviting you to linger.

Once you’ve recharged with new energy, you can head straight to the giant water slide. This blue marvel is a whopping 60 meters long and 11 meters high. You can enjoy the fun of sliding until early September. If the weather isn’t cooperating, just check our Beach House That's it. Upstairs, there's a varied program for the little ones, and downstairs, there's a beach hut where teens can relax and play games. You're guaranteed never to get bored here!  

Because our guys and girls from the German Life-Saving Association, Inc. They always have everything under control. We love stopping by here! Thanks to them, we can fully enjoy a dip in the cool water every summer day. During the season, there are DLRG lifeguards or certified lifeguards on duty at a total of 16 staffed watchtowers and at the auxiliary station at Lensterstrand.

Sometimes we do end up being drawn away from the beach and out into the green surroundings. Do you have a lot of luggage or little passengers with you? Then why not switch from an e-scooter to an electric cargo bike? Thanks to the state-of-the-art pedal assist and the cargo box, you’ll make quick and comfortable progress despite the extra weight—and you can still enjoy the wonderful scenery along the way.

Who can resist this look? You can get to this adorable animal in no time on your bike. Luckily, there are a few treats to take with you at the entrance—that’s how you win over the Noah's Ark Zoo Animal friends. Coatis, ferrets, porcupines, and many other animals roam the zoo grounds. Plus, a play ship and a playground invite kids to run around and have fun. There’s also a café where older visitors can relax. Sounds like fun for the whole family? Then head on over.  

Unless, of course, you hold our delicious licorice ice cream right under your nose. Or any other kind of ice cream! On the promenade, every flavor tastes unbelievably good! And here, the variety of colors is at least as diverse as on our little tour. We’ll finally go from just looking at it to actually eating our fill. What a wonderful way to wrap up our summer tour.
