Perhaps a place to get married: The former Benedictine abbey exudes a charm that captivates every visitor. The first cornerstone for the church and the monastery was laid here in 1238. And even today, the building’s long history is ever-present. The impressive vaulted cellars house a well fed by a medieval healing spring. Today’s monastery café was once part of the refectory, the monks’ dining hall. Today, art fellows from the state of Schleswig-Holstein live above the refectory.
