The sound of the sea and the sounds of nature
Prick up your ears! We’ve got a lot to share. When we go to the beach, we’re completely spellbound. The sound of the ocean is mesmerizing. It calms us, gives us strength, and fills us with a deep sense of awe. We love the sound of the sea. Whether in summer, fall, spring, or winter—when we close our eyes and listen to the power of the waves, we feel at home. Then it doesn’t matter at all whether we’re lying on our towel, soaking wet from our last dip in the waves, or braving the stiff breeze in our winter coats. We savor the moment and listen to the sounds. If you listen closely and surrender to the moment, you can soak up the diversity of the Baltic Sea. Every season whispers wonderful experiences into our ears with its very own coastal voice—do you know it yet?
A summer hit with many voices
It’s only when summer draws to a close and the beaches slowly begin to empty that it becomes clear just how loud and vibrant this wonderfully warm season is. The children run into the waves laughing loudly, giggling as they build little castles and cheering loudly for their next ice cream. Sailboats rush across the sea in droves and SUP riders fall into the water screaming. Passionate cheers echo from the volleyball court and a pleading “One more time!” rings out from the giant slide.
If nothing else, the soft snoring coming from the neighboring beach chair proves that Grömitz has something for everyone—from thrilling water sports to complete relaxation
A Cozy Autumn Get-Together
Autumn paints the trees in vibrant colors and surrounds us with the soothing rustle of leaves with every step. What could be better than warming up with a long sauna session after a long walk on the beach, breathing in the crisp air and listening to the crashing waves? As the next infusion of steam wafts through the sauna, we reflect on the day once more. In silence, we ask ourselves why we were so sad about the end of summer. We had completely forgotten how beautiful this season is.
If you haven’t quite gotten into the autumn spirit yet, you should definitely get in the mood with a long night in the sauna at Grömitzer Welle. Every month, guests are treated to a new theme and get to enjoy all the benefits of this golden season. So grab your bathrobe and let’s go!
Joy of life on four legs
Howling, squeaking, joyful barking, and paws splashing wildly through the cool Baltic Sea—anyone who takes a long walk on the beach during the cold season is sure to enjoy these life-affirming sounds. No one else enjoys a refreshing dip quite as much as our four-legged friends. At two official dog beaches, they can run around to their heart’s content on long walks, and from November through March, all sections of the beach are open to them.
Do you have a loyal companion of your own? Then you'll find here Here are a few tips for your next trip to the beach together. We can’t wait to hear your cheerful voices drifting over the next dune.
To us, the children of the coast
The clinking of mulled wine glasses signals the start of the Christmas season. The contented murmur of Christmas market visitors drifts softly across the beach. With chestnuts and a hot punch in hand, the icy cold is easy to bear, and the anticipation of a short stroll along the beach grows. Anyone who wants to experience the Christmas spirit with a view of the Baltic Sea should set aside some time around Christmas and stop by the pier forecourt.
The new year is just around the corner
And, as always, it’s gone by way too fast. Just think of everything we’ve experienced this year! Here on the coast, there’s always a lively buzz. But sometimes we northerners need some time to ourselves, too. If you’re looking for a mindful break, our winter retreats are just the thing for you. From November through March, you can unwind with a variety of yoga and fitness classes, enjoy the silence, and recharge your batteries for the new year.
Hmm, we like the taste of that
Once we’ve survived the New Year’s Day swim, we can enjoy the new year with all its treats. Then all we hear is the contented murmur of voices from the coastal taverns and the wind rattling the shutters and whistling through the walls.
If you’re in the mood for a short walk after this feast, you can safely explore the area even after dark on one of our many torchlight hikes and startle little crabs on the beach. All the dates for this special moonlight hike are listed in our event calendar.
We're getting some color
As the dark season draws to a close, all we want to do is get outside, fill our lungs with fresh air, and get moving. As nature awakens, so do our spirits. The contemplative silence of the dark season gives way to a bustling activity: We dust off our bikes and get them ready for Bike Week, walks on the beach grow longer again, and from one or two beach chairs you can hear couples in love giggling. The seagulls screech it from the sky: This spring feels like a fresh start. We can’t get enough of the many rapeseed fields and dearly hope that our bike rides will always be this colorful. But we know: Summer is just around the corner, and then the sun will shine just as beautifully as the blooming fields.
